Shuffle
This was an Industry Partnered Project in which I had to bring "The Shuffle" to life. The Shuffle was a lighting column produced by Schréder which included many modern functions including WIFI, CCTV, EV Charging and Loudspeaker. I chose to represent these functions using light as the medium for creation, but particularly long exposure photography. This project provided valuable experience of working with a real client and product, and carrying out professional pitch presentations of my ideas to a board of directors at regular intervals during the project. As part of this project I was also selected to showcase my work in a printed brochure with Schréder at LUX Live - a lighting event in London.
A brief in which I had to select a movie from a choice and create an outcome related to that movie. I chose "The Big Lebowski" and created a fully functioning board game which would test the users knowledge on the film. Each illustrated image on the board correlated in number of appearances and order of those seen in the film.
My Final Major Project at university explored the truth about what it is really like to be tall, and aimed to create different impressions to those around me about height and how it's not always as good as everyone thinks. I also wanted to try to make people think about the comments they make to tall people, and how similar comments are not acceptable to other body shapes so why should tall be acceptable. The project was exhibited in my end of degree show, and featured the completed book as well as interactive installations.
A self initiated brief in which I chose to raise awareness of the lesser known endangered species. I created a series of three wall charts with small facts about the critically endangered, endangered and vulnerable species. I also created a series of three risograph printed postcards with similar facts and illustrations on them to be given out at the event I ran as part of the project. At the event I asked the visitors to draw what they thought one of the species looked like, having given them only a name to test if anyone knew what these species should look like.
A small branding project in which I was asked by fellow band instructors if I could create a new logo for the band. We wanted to represent the musical talent of the band but also both the Scouting and Guiding roots.
